Help Us Help Others at SQL Saturday Madison 2015

Ever been so happy you could burst? That’s how I’m  feeling about SQL Saturday #387 in Madison, WI. We have over 400 registered attendees, forty sessions from fantastic speakers, and support from generous sponsors. Our event will be in the heart of downtown Madison this year at the beautiful Pyle Center, a great location with some rooms overlooking Lake Mendota!

So what do you do with all that happy energy so you don’t burst at the seams? A good start is to say thank you – to a speaker, a sponsor, a volunteer, or just someone who lets you in front of them at the coffee line! Our event depends on generous acts of all sizes, so we love it when those acts get recognized.

But maybe that’s just the beginning. Did something you learned at a SQL Saturday or a PASS Chapter meeting get you out of a jam? Are you glad to see SQL Saturdays thriving year after year? Are you just happy to have an excuse to visit Madison?

If that sounds like you, I have a favor to ask: help us help others through a donation to Second Harvest Food Bank of Madison. We’ll have a cash donation jar at our registration desk, and will be accepting donations throughout the day. Big or small, all amounts are welcome! Lest you think I’m asking you to donate just on feelings alone, I’m not. Check out the data on the good your donation can do. If you’d rather contribute online, be sure to tell them in the comments that #sqlSatMadison sent you!

On a personal note, I’d like to extend my heartfelt thanks to my fellow SQL Saturday Madison 2015 committee members. They have worked tirelessly on #sqlSatMadison since last fall, and their excellent efforts and good spirits have brought forth something wonderful! Well done everyone!
